Scam Line is designed around online interaction between players (since 2025 the genre is known as “friendslop”), where 4 to 8 participants join a session that functions like a competitive game show. In each match, players must navigate a series of social challenges, communicate strategically, and use limited communication tools to gain an advantage over others. The player experience centers on bluffing, forming alliances, interpreting other players’ behavior, and ultimately trying to be the last one standing as adversaries eliminate or outsmart each other.

During matches, players are divided into separate rooms and can only communicate via an in‑game old mobile handset mechanic, which limits direct communication and makes deciphering others’ intentions a key part of gameplay. Challenges in the game include tasks such as deducing other players’ identities, observing visual differences, and engaging in decision‑making scenarios like the Prisoner’s Dilemma. These elements encourage negotiation, strategic deception, and social interaction among friends or other online players.
